Role

Ko taku tino mahi ki Te Rito Maioha, kia koha at i ngā kōrero nō ōku kaiako ki te hunga matekai. 

Jade’s role is to support the ongoing learning of matauranga Māori with tauira|students, staff and early childhood centres connected with Te Rito Maioha through te takiwā ako o Te Papaioea.   

Education background

He mokopuna tēnei nō te kaupapa o te Kōhanga reo.  Ka tika, me whakahoki i te aroha ki te kaupapa nana ahau i whakatipu, nāna ahau i whakatō i te reo Māori.

Jade was involved with Kōhanga reo for 14 years, as a parent and a teacher, with a vision to raise children in an environment which promoted te ao Māori to live, breathe and succeed as Māori. 

Research background

E aroha ana ahau ki tō tātou reo Māori, tikanga Māori, ahuatanga, whakapono Māori. Koinei ngā kaupapa kua tāmokohia ki tōku ngākau.

Jade is passionate about her heritage and the revitalisation journey of te reo Māori within her whānau and future generations. We stand on the shoulders of giants. Jade wants to make sure when she stands, her children and descendants have the same solid foundation she has had in her life.  

Teaching interests

E whaiwhai haere ana i ngā tapuwae ā ō tātou mātua tipuna.  Ko te whakarongo, ko te titiro, ko te ako.  Ko tāku, ko te toha i ngā koha, ko te whakaatu i te aroha, ko te manaaki i ngā tauira.  

Jade’s aspirations, goals and life philosophy are centred around growing, learning, and teaching.  She sees herself as a small part of a larger collective of people wanting to learn alongside our future teachers.
